Exploring and Understanding Attitudes and Beliefs about Homosexuality

Cards designed to help participants understand their biases’ about homosexuality, about differences in others, and to help foster acceptance of homosexuals in their schools. It is often difficult for some to understand the lifestyles of others and it is often equally difficult for those who are different to express their differences.  This card game hopes to help look at those barriers, understand them, and to develop ways to live alongside each other.  This card game has been developed to work with the Safe Child initiatives -with the goal of all children feeling safe in school, and safe in who they are.

Dangerous Divas

This game has been designed because girls can be so incredibly mean to each other in many emotional ways.  Dangerous Divas helps participants understand what they do to each other, how what they do hurts, how to be more direct with feelings, and how to deal with mean things coming one's way. These cards have been designed specifically for girls because girls tend to be much better at hurting each other with words and emotional manipulation than boys are.  The impact on self-esteem and life's choices are monumental.  We all need to help each other deal with this issue.

The mission of Bully-nomore is to replace bullying with kindness.  We believe that when we ask anyone to change a behavior, we need to offer a new replacement behavior.  We also believe that being kind beings in the world and passing kindness around is one of the most positvie ways to live in this world.  Kindness is not necessarily something we are born to do or born to understand.  This card game has been designed to help children-(and adults too)-understand, be aware of, and pass on acts of kindness.

Feelings cards

Not understanding emotions is one of the root causes of bullying and other life problems.  We need to start learning about our feelings and what they mean to us at an early age.  This card game has been developed for working with younger kids. presenting them with a picture and asking them to describe the feeling, tell a story about what is going on, and ask/help them develop plans for dealing for those situations.  One of the side benefits of this game is that we often learn about what is going on with the child, what their fears/concerns are, and we have a window into their life.  This means we can start to help them.  The game is a lot of fun and is totally unpredictable in the responses.  Share with us what you learn!!!

COLOURS is a card game designed to help particpants understand and build skills to deal with their biases, stereotypes, and prejudices.  We all have difficulties with those who are "different" from us.  We need to learn how to build skills to deal with those biases, feelings, and fears.  The issues we have with "differences" are some of the root causes of bullying.  Understanding the biases. looking at them, and becoming open to learning and growing from those differences.  The game helps particpants deal with these highly charged emotions in a neutral setting, be open and share feelings, stereotypes, and learn about oneself and others.  This game is good for a group of "similar" individuals or for a group of "participants".  As with all of our card games, we welcome feedback and ideas for using the game.
