Well, here we are for our fifth newsletter. Lots of things have happened in the last few weeks. Romeo and Dynamo are both working in the schools with the bully prevention program. They are both also working in two different elementary schools doing reading with the kids and other stuff. Let them tell you what is going on and what they are learning.

Romeo: Hey Dynamo, how do you like what is going on at the schools? I am really enjoying the SAINTS program and I am looking forward to our school assembly when we introduce the program.

Dynamo: Yeah, it is really cool. I am learning a lot about kids and a lot about bullying. It is soooo neat when the kids talk about issues they are having right now and even sometimes with others in the group. In the SAINTS program this week, two boys worked out an issue they had with each other. It was kinda neat because each of them held me when they were talking. You could see the pain and hurt each of them had, and you could see how much better they felt when they were able to talk with each other.

Romeo: I think we are doing a good job. Sometimes, I can feel the tension in a kid when they start to pet me and start to talk about things. Then it seems like I can feel the tension start to come out of them and they start to relax as they continue to work.

Dynamo: I think it is good because we are so loving-at least with the kids-and never has one of them even been a little mean to me. How about you?

Romeo: Nah, they sometimes get tight with their hugs, but Mom watches for that. I have noticed that even the “mean” kids-and it is easy to spot the troubled kids-warm up to me and who are loving and thoughtful to me.

Dynamo: Yup, I think we are really beginning to “Pay it forward” with these kids and we are making a impact. Let’s get to work!!!
