The Department of Education has sent a “Dear Colllegue” letter to school districts across the country.  This letter is meant to let school districts, schools, teachers, and administrators know that the problem of bullying and harassment is huge and that the consequences of each of these is equally awesome.  When bullying runs into or turns into harassment, there are many consequences that can come into being.  All schools and all personnel of schools need to become aware of these consequences and how to define harassment.  Unless they become aware of these distinctions, they may be held accountable for not dealing with harassment in the appropriate manner.
